Brien Bates, DVM

Dr. Bates grew up in southern California and moved to Davis to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, moving on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the UC Davis school of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Bates has a special interest in small animal and exotic medicine and surgery. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association, the Santa Clara County Veterinary Medical Association and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians.

He and his wife Virginia live in San Jose with their daughter, father, two dogs and two cats.

Dr. Greenspan is a Bay Area native who grew up in San Francisco and the East Bay. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from UC Davis, and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Greenspan has a special interest in small animal and pet exotic medicine and surgery. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association, and the Santa Clara County Veterinary Medical Association.

She and her spouse live in San Jose with their pets, Satchmo the Labrador mix and Monty the ball python. In her spare time, Dr. Greenspan enjoys dancing, backpacking, hiking, and snowboarding.

Terri joined the De Anza team in April of 2013 and multi-tasks as a receptionist and technician. She is a native Texan and obtained her Bachelors of Science in Zoology at Texas A&M University in 2011. In Decemeber of 2015, she graduated with an Associates of Veterinary Technology, and in March of 2016, passed the VTNE (veterinary technician national examination) and California state law/ethics board to become a registered veterinary technician.

Her current memberships include the American Animal Hospital Association, the National Association of Veterinary Technicians, and the California Registered Veterinary Technicians Association. She began as a kennel technician in high school and never looked back! Since then, she has volunteered at animal shelters, a child therapy program that uses horses, and has worked with various animal hospitals along the way. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, doodling, cappuccino latte art, and anything science! She has two rambunctious, rescue cats named MoMo and Mishka. Come in and say Howdy to our Texan gal!


Wayne Andrews

Wayne is a Monterey Bay Area native. He attended the Hartnell College veterinary technician program and came to De Anza Veterinary Clinic about 15 years ago. Altogether, he has collected over 20 years experience in emergency, small animal/exotic medicine, and is PennHipp certified; a technique used to evaluate hip dysplasia. His other achievements include holding a presidential chair position for the Monterey Bay Caged Bird Club, operating a rescue and adoption program for parrots, and is currently involved in a cooperative breeding program for blue eyed and black cockatoos.

Wayne has a special interest in exotic animal medicine and small animal dentisrty. His hobby and passion is raising captive Psittacines as part of conservation effort to preserve species for future generations to enjoy. In his free time Wayne enjoys interacting with his collection of parrots and 2 dogs (Rex and Leah), spending time with his life partner, and attending continuing education seminars.
